Q: How to use Practice World.
A: Practice World consists of four separate areas:
- Practices For Sale
- Medical Job Classifieds
- Equipment Classifieds
- Consultant Directory
Any user can view and search information on the entire website, whether
registered or not. For registered users there is a common login/password
for the entire website. However, there is a separate user account
for each section which is color coded for visual
reference. Each section's user account can be accessed by
clicking on the My Account link from within that
It is from each section's account that you create and manage
ads for that section. There always a fee to create
ads. Each section has separate fees which can be viewed by clicking on the
Pricing link in each section. Further, each
section allows you to create and pay for ads individually (i.e.,
non-subscription pricing) and to create and pay for a subscription that allows
you to create multiple ads for one price.
Pricing and choice of non-subscription or subscription ad creation is unique
to each area. This gives you more flexibility and you only pay for what
Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: Nothing. Registration is FREE.
Q: Do I have to register to use the site?
Pricing and Payment
A: No. You can browse and search ads without registering. You should still register, to save time, as the site will remember various preferences for you. If you want to create ads or listings or advertise your services, you will need to register. Registration is FREE.
Q: How Much Do Ads Cost?
A: Ads can be purchased on either a subscription basis, or on a per ad price/month. If you expect to create multiple ads then the subscription pricing is cheaper per ad.
Q: How Long Does an Ad Run?
A: Ads placed under a subscription run until deleted by you, or until the subscription expires. Subscriptions can be purchased in 30, 90, and 365 day increments.
Non-subscription ads run for 60 days, or until deleted by you.
Q: Why are Service Directory Ads priced differently for Brokers?
Creating and Managing Ads
A: The inherent nature of a Broker's business requires an additional cost for listing practices and/or real estate for sale. Other business categories typically do not incur this cost. Therefore, we've adjusted the Service Directory ad cost to compensate. Think of it as a "package deal" for buying/using multiple portions of Practice World.
Q: Do I Have to Register to Create Ads?
A: Yes. You must be a registered user to create employment or classified ads, advertise your services, or advertise a practice or business for sale. Registration is free.
Q: I created an ad, but it does not show up in search results. Why?
A: You need to RUN your ad. Go to My Account and click on Run ad to the left of the ad you wish to run. The system will ask for your credit card information, and your ad will run as soon as your payment is processed. If placing an ad under a subscription then there no additional charge.
Q: How do I stop my ad from running?
A: From the My Account page, click on the Stop link to the left of the ad.
Q: I notice that I can't edit/change all the fields in my ad. Why is that?
A: Some fields have an additional cost: the "featured" option, adding photos/logos, and including a URL link to another website. These fields are not available on the standard Edit Form. To edit these fields one must first STOP the ad from running. Then EDIT the ad while in the STOPped/Draft state. All fields will appear and you can change URLs, photos, and "Featured Ad" status. Then from My_Account simply RUN the ad again. If you have a subscription there is no extra charge. If the ad was a standard ad, the system will charge the entire amount again as if you were placing the Ad for the first time. If this happens to you, contact firstname.lastname@example.org and will adjust your ad/pricing. Unfortunately, this requires manual intervention on the part of Practice World staff.
Q: What Category Should I Put My Ad In?
A: There are different categories for practice types, equipment classified, employment classifieds, and the consultant directory. If you don't see a defined category then place it under 'other.' You can also send an email request to create a new category to email@example.com
Q: What region/country/state should I put my ad in?
A: For practice listings: choose the geography where the practice is located.
For the consultant directory or personal profile: choose the geography(s) where you live or your service area if multiple geographies.
Practice World is designed to support all locations worldwide. Menu selections tend to default to the United States as this is the home country of Practice World. To select a different region, country, or state, simply scroll the menu selection bar.
You can change the geography or location of any ad at any time.
Q: Will my ad be visible to people in other countries?
A: Yes. All ads are visible to all Practice World users. The system will, however, show ads in the user's registered home country first, then ads from outside their region.
Q: I don't want my name, phone number or email address to appear on your site. What should I do?
A: You can have all your personal information remain private. Update your personal privacy preferences from the My Account page.
Q: If all my information is private how can a buyer contact me?
A: When your ad appears, instead of showing your contact information the following appears: "This seller has chosen to remain private. You may contact this seller via anonymous email by clicking here." The prospective buyer completes an on-line form and the system sends you an email without revealing your information to the prospective buyer.
Q: How Do Regions Work?
A: PracticeWorld.com covers entire world. When you register or create ads, you select a region/country/state. When you browse ads, ads in your country will be shown first. When you search for ads, ads in your country will be shown first.
Q: I don't see my city listed. What region should I choose?
A: Choose the city closest to you or the state you live in.
